And after that you could check out Lowe's other band, Solitude Aeternus. That's some great stuff.

I just picked this up today. I've never even heard a Candlemass CD but I am so glad that this site exists otherwise I may have missed out on this release.....even worse, this band in general. I know ...I know...what rock have I been living under? Right? None the less, Jeff ..thank you. I love this CD. I listened to it completely in the car while running errands today. It kicks ass. I'm looking forward to buying it's predecessor soon too. :dio: :dio:

The band's overall sound (musically) on this CD reminds me of early Black Sabbath.

Glad the site influenced you to get into something "new". Definately check out their first four releases (Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, Nightfall, Ancient Dreams, Tales of Creation as well as their last with Messiah Marcolin, the self titled one). You won't be dissapointed! :)

I just picked up the self titled release. Once again you guys nailed it. It's a great CD. I'm so glad MR brought Candlemass to my attention. I just can't figure how I've missed out on Candlemass for so long.

Finally this came (don't order anything not from a major label from HMV) and I am really enjoying it.

The riffs are all very good quality and are generally move quickly enough to keep your attention .. I found the last album to have a few tedious parts .. this has very few if any. Embracing the Styx sounds like something off Seasons in the Abyss but at least it's a good song.

The new singer is perfect .. if Messiah is some kind of ego-hole now then screw him. I'll take this guy any day.

EDIT: After 10 listens .. it keeps getting better. I am almost tempted to say there are some classic riffs on here.
