Really? I hate it and skip over it every time. Pointless synth bullshit before the real song.

Yeah I always fast forward until the acoustic guitar comes in.

Serenity Painted Death is motherfucking amazing. So many awesome riffs, especially that one with the awesome groove.

To address another point, I'd rather hang myself than listen to another shitty, shitty Shitknot album again --> brutality for 10 year olds.

Also, recently heard all of St Anger for the first time, and oh my fucking shit if it isn't the worst album ever. I laughed so hard at the lyrics, and holy shit the worst drum sound ever made.

Ain't it? I found all the songs on YouTube, but could onlt listen to about 3/5ths of the whole album at a time before I started to get a headache. All Within My Hands is one of the most hilarious tracks ever.

"KILL KILL KILL KILL! KILL!"

This isn't a St. Anger thread, though, so I'll abruptly change the subject.

I still need this album. The fact that it supposedly bridged the gap sound-wise between MAYH and BwP sounds really good to me, as both are my 2 favorite Opeth albums.

I tried Blackwater Park once... Which never clicked for me at all... Is this a better place to start?

I suggest you start with Morningrise then this one. They are both amazing albums and IMO better than what they're making these days and Blackwater Park.
I'm glad I tried Ghost Reveries first... I loved it. Got Morningrise today amd imo is not anywhere near as good yet..

Personally my favourites are probably Ghost Reveries and Deliverance, but I really need to hear the others more.

BTW, you're forgetting:

Invisible kid
Never see what he did
Got stuck where he hid
Fallen through the grid

I nearly crapped myself.

Even on my fancy new headphones, I can't pick it out.

You can increase the bass with the 5.1 surround sound though.

I think this is shaping up to be my favorite Opeth yet.

Oh, is The Candlelight Years worth getting? It'd cost me twice as much to buy the three albums separately, but the box set is all in Japanese...

the only opeth album i will tolerate for elongated periods of time without gettin the urge to snap some ribs that don't belong to me.

also, since i can't for the life of me remember who to PM for this stuff, can some staff member or another PM me my password so i can log on from more than this one computer that i barely ever use?
