My score of 30 will remain unaltered. Wheel of Time is another example of a song that is way too long and has way too few interesting parts. That is the curse of this album. Too long, not enough awesome.

That'd be a more apt description of Nightfall and Opera IMO . . .

Agreed, no way Nightfall gets anything less than a 98. That album is one of the most magnificent musical compilations ever assembled. It is a true work of art that will never be achieved again by a metal band.

That's interesting because everything BG has done since then has been recyclying material from Nightfall. So, I understand you have an opinion and that's fine, but honestly this is just a strange thing to say.

Here's an even stranger one for ye: I prefer A Twist in the Myth to both Nightfall and Opera.

Yeah that is weird. I knew one day I'd confront someone like you. Never thought it would happen like this. There's no point in discussing this any further, there is a fundamental disagreement here incapable of resolution. Enjoy ATITM.

And therein lies the problem.

On another note, I would very much welcome a concept album based on A Song of Fire and Ice.

Complete with songs shoehorning uneccesary sex scenes with 13 year old girls into the lyrics!

I'm on the verge of saying this album is perfect.

I thought I gave this album a fairly reasonable score, but I guess I'm quite the hard-ass seeing how I scored it lower than any other reviewer or reader...

I will agree now that I did not talk about "Wheel of Time" enough in the review, though. That's one helluva song.

Even though i love this album if you put their backcatalog into context, the score is actually kinda high.
