It's no surprise. This site probably isn't drawing too many power metal fans.

This site used be draw power metal fans back in the day when Chris and Danny reviewed regularly ect. Then some people complained that there wasn't enough Black/Death metal reviews and the tides began to turn.

Today it's the complete opposite it seems. 70 % of the reviews are either Black or Doom metal. I may only have 8 posts but i've been around for a while (2002). This used to be one of my favorite reviews site but the Black Metalization that ensued drove me away since i'm not a fan of the genre. Nothing wrong with reviewing Black metal but people like me who are looking mostly for power - progressive - heavy ect reviews began to look elsewhere since the numbers of reviews for these genre began to drop.

And i'm not whining. Just wanted to give my 2 cents on your comment.

I see where you're coming from, but at the same time, this site has really made me appreciate more than just speed/power metal. In 2004 if it wasn't Rhapsody or Gamma Ray, I wasn't having it. I have grown more fond of this website as the years go on.

The site was originally black metal oriented in the 2004-05 Era (I wasn't here in 2002). Then things changed when Misha switched to the pink team, V disappeared, Ken took the reins, and the reviewers you mentioned were pumping out the material. Agreed that there isn't much power/prog now, but I'm not sure about 70% of the site being black/doom right now. These things have a tendency to change though, and I imagine your genre will have its day again.

Yeah I'm with Ness on this one. I discovered death, funeral doom, crust, grindcore and sludge on this forum. This allowed me to expand beyond what I was regularly listen to which is power/prog/heavy and thrash metal.

I do take your comments on board, but would point out that this week there's much more power metal and non-extremist stuff in general than there is black/death etc. Generally these things ebb and flow, as others have said, depending on the tastes of the reviewers in question. I certainly hope we get everything done in the end, hence the request threads elsewhere on the forum - if you see something we've missed, please do request it there.
