This album did'nt grab me as quickly as SF did, but none the less an amazing kick ass album! I agree with the interview about the vocals though, it did seem like he was holding back. Oh well. Cheesy? maybee. Over the top? Ceartainly and thats why I love it!

I think people take bands like Dragonforce,Rhapsody,Hammerfall and Manowar seriously but in essence it's what I call fun listening,bang your head and raise your fist in the fucking ass air and scream out loud metal.

If you want some serious metal listen to bands like Nevermore but if you want some damn fun ass metal then listen to bands like Dragonforce and shut up.

The words pointless and soloing do not ever go together

They completely kill the songs for me. More bands need to learn from Nevermore and realize that you don't need to bunch 8 solos up at the end of the song.

That's why we have different styles and genres.

I dunno, I like everything except the lack of song variety they do up until the solos... then any goodness the song might have built up just ebbs away

yeah, you're right... and that's something Avenged Sevenfold are particulary good at ! :wink:

otherwise, I still think this is their best album even though it's still a pretty minor metal act and that I can't see them becoming and respected as Helloween or Blind Guardian... but they're fun to listen to and we still need some good headbanging fun from times to times, don't we ? 8)

Very good album; probably their weakest, but really, all of their albums are basically the exact same with different production, so its the weakest by a very small margin.
