Well all I have to say is that there is definitely a double-standard going on around here.

Not at all. Everyone does it occasionally, some do it 95% of the time. And this will apply to everyone.

But again, not the time or place for a deeper discussion on the subject.

I'm just going to put my oar in to say that Slipknot suck. Wow, they can play power chords in drop D. OOOH! Why the fuck does a band have nine members? They can't even play! (exception for Joey Jordison, who's a pretty good drummer). All the slipknot fans I know are little turds who think that slipknot are evil and everything. God is it annoying!!!!!! Fuck Slipknot!
You cannot use guitar tuning as a measure of skill. Nile play in drop D as well. Playing in drop D allows you to reach notes that would otherwise be impossible to reach as quickly as a band like Nile would need to. And playing power chords in standard tuning is not much more difficult than doing bar chords at all.

American kids think Slipkont are the most evil thing ever. Norwegian kids think their inverted cross burning pandas are the most evil thing ever as well. Slipknot gets much more shit though.

I can't remember if I said this before (I'm on dialup atm, I'm not checking), but the percussion can be cool sometimes. I'll give their next album a listen, and hope it's better than Vol 3 was. That other band of the singer's is better, though, whatever they're called.

You mean Stone Sour, and it's not only Corey Taylor (singer) that is on this band and Slipknot, Jim Root (guitars) is also in it.

And for the ones who don't know it yet, Joey will play drums for Ministry in their announced last album.

Yeah, that's the one.

He did on Rio Grande Blood as well, which is a fucking great album, by the by. I'll admit, the man can beat some tin cans. Still, so can most metal & 'core drummers around nowadays, so not that impressive.

Jordinson shot up in my expectation when I saw him drum for metallica, considering the man didn't have any chance to rehearse before appearing at one hours notice to play to over 50'000 people with them, he did a bloody good job.

Yeah, he's good, but who hasn't heard those Metallica albums 50,000,000 times in their life? Now doing that for a band that everyone and their dog isn't familiar with would be far more impressive.

Why not simply be impressed with what he's done with Slipknot? He's a killer drummer!

Zad man vloume 3 is the best thing they ever did!

I feel sorry for Jordison........ppl are always measuring him for the littlest things to make arguments as to why hes a good or bad drummer :lame:

Listen to slipknot.....do u hear the percussion and go WOW :omfg: ? That would tell u whether u think hes a good drummer or not :)

And no one can say that all nine members are that vital....they could be a 5 piece an still just as good.

There were a few clips of Joey doing some rather inpressive drum solos. If he ever quits Slipknot, he would be a more than adequate addition to any extreme metal band. :dio: :dio:

It's like naming the seven dwarfs - the spikey one, the clown, the gas mask, the gimp...

He drums (or used to drum) for Anal Blast. Goregrind that might remind you of Vomitory at times.

Yeah, he also did that tour for Saytricon and then that death metal track with Glen Benton on that RoadRunner All Star album.
