not that I want to comment on that particular topic but your links are all conservative so it's their interest to say that Michael Moore is a liar... just too damn easy ! and too damn revolting too 'cause even if he lies, his lies didn't cause so much death as GW Bush's...

never heard of it...! Maybe it happened once or twice (mafia against mafia I think it did in Marseille) but nothing close to what happens on a daily basis in the USA...

but I have to say French society is a bit more violent than Netherlands (with maybe the exception of Rotterdam)...

Stop the bitchin' guys; I live in Mexico (3rd world) and we have like 10 murders every day, 70% of the people I know have been subject to crime activities and we're the second or third largest city in the world; I can't think of ONE day, there's not someone dead in the news; you should be grateful for living in such secure countries.

I have an ex who lives in Guadalajara (Mexico) and she'd told me how it is living in such a violent environment... actually she's pretty wealthy so she lives in a secured house but you have to go out for work etc... she told me there's some precise traffic lights where nobody ever stops fearing to be robbed & plenty of other stories of the same sort... well, Guadalajara is a small city compared to MC so it should be a lot worse around where you live (actually, she told me she never want to go live in MC)...

but knowing there are more dangerous places to be, if it helps to relativize doesn't make you want for things to stay the same or to worsen as it is the case in western Europe these days...

we are the lucky, i feel sorry for you and the poor bastards that live in the US. however, we just say that legalizing firearms is not helping a lot...

Most of the people that get killed are not of your race or class... it's really like two different worlds in the US.

Let me paraphrase: For the vast majority of people living in the US, it is a great country. Certainly nothing for you to feel superior about.

ow haha, yes i said that the poor bastards that live america... i knew i would get comment 8) anyways, I'm glad i live in europe, i don't feel superior, but i think europe is a superior place to live right now. i'm not proud of my country though, the place sucks in terms of landscape, and the government is not the countrey. i HATE patriotism (in terms of standing up for your countrey and such, not for loving the landscape, that's ok with me).

For the vast majority of people living in the US, it is a great country... and for the others ? that is one of the problems we europeans are having with the USA... we do care about minorities too, we do try to have a social policy, public health insurance etc.. all these things help preventing the kind of violence feeding on the flesh of those "poor negros" who just have to try harder being happy or die ! is that it ? smile or die ? :evil:

Jeez, guys. If you are going to attack a country for its social policies, at least pick one that doesn't rank in the top 10 on the UN human development index.

US has the most power to change the world. They really do have the most responsibility, whether they like it or not. They're not a self sufficient country (no such thing anymore), so that's not an excuse.

I'll add that if you're from one of the most civilized countries in the world you have to show less civilized nations the ways & means of good behaviour... th way US policy is showing us is more death, starvation & anger, that I can't agree on !

Totally agree, they are the uncrowned dictators of this planet, and they are bitching at every countrey that they don't like and that has nukes, for real, who actually have the largest amount of nukes on the planet?

I'm not so sure it's the USA... it could be China or Russia too... it's even scarier with Russia which is an over-corrupted country...

but sure, US do love to give lessons & it's always for their benefit...
