Uh yea that pretty much settles that for me as well. Not that I could stand Tool anyway, but that is a serious condemnation right there. :P

By the way, they totally copied disturbed's album title.

Ken is like Mikey, he likes everything, I can't believe he doesn't like this. Tool is like the most overrated AOR band of all time, worse then Journey. lol

That's not true. I don't like you.

while the music is a rehashed riffs of tool folklore [ hah]

the lyrics are more personal than ever and maynard is just a hard ass

this was a concept album for those that didnt know it was about his mother [ marie] who was in a comma for 10,000 days

this is a new side of maynard that we are seeing and personally i like it

I don't think that concept covers the whole album...

I'm obsessed with the live version of Third Eye on salival, I think I listened to it 4 times each day for the last 3 days

Keenan's mother was not in a coma. She had a stroke, which left her paralyzed. She was like that for 27 years before she died. That's approximately 10,000 days; it's just symbolic, not completely accurate.

Out of all of Tool's albums, I find this one to be there weakest. Too much filler, weird experimental stuff going on. Not enough consistency of any kind other than it being pertty boring

I couldn't have said it better myself.

This is the worst CD that TOOL has released.

I dont see how this album has too much filler when Aenima had like 5 noise tracks and Lateralus had 3. The only song I was disapointed by was The Pot, 'cause its too much of a fun rocky type song.

That said its not as good as AEnima or Lateralus, better than Undertow though.

Better than Undertow's good enough for me, especially since Undertow's pretty good.

Filler doesn't just apply to interludes. Boring songs can be filler as well; and 10,000 Days has a bunch of boring songs.

I'm with Noodles on this one: 10,000 days was better than Undertow but not as good as Aenima and Lateralus.

Undertow is awesome. 10,000 Days is a dud.

It seems at the very least most people agree that this album was nothing special. And when you are Tool, with Tool-sized expectations, and you take 5 years to make an album, nothing special is pretty bad.

I have always been on the fence with Tool and I was hoping that this album would sway me to their side. It certainly has not.

I'd say its nothing special compared to Tool's other albums, but definitely not nothing special compared to other music in general... especially since as far as popuplar music goes the only albums from the last 5 years that compare to 10,000 Days in quality have been released by The Mars Volta.
