Hard rock fans should not miss this for sure - I think it might be destined for classic status a few years down the road. Its a fantastic album, commercial for sure, but the melodies are so so good, and Stevie Lee is just an incredible vocalist. I will be playing this album in many years to come, that's for sure. If you like this album, check out their early stuff too, not that their recent stuff is not good (it is), its just that like Danny said, their early stuff has more...I dunno,...soul?..and a more in your face, less produced sound to it, just like this latest album.
:)

Very good album.. although it does not meet the standards that Enuff Znuff sets for hard rock, but a excellent album for sure!

This album is AWESOME, I bought the Dual Disc version which sounds fantastic, actually noticable above the quality of the cd side, and the DTS 5.1 Mix is excellent. Also includes the video for Lift You Up, which is really cool, pitty it would never get seen on mainstream TV, then again maybe not, once good quality music like this becomes pop like it was in the 80s Im sure the level of melodic-shit would appear again. Anyway, this is my first Gotthard cd and im definitly gonna check out their other albums. This review was pretty spot on, id say the album should have been more like 12 songs rather than 14 (or 15 with the bonus track Cant Stop, which is another rocker, which finishes this version of the album nicley), and probably rate it low 90s. The only danger with this album is that its catchy and immediately likeable which means youll play the hell out of it to start with, hopefully it doesnt then get tiring and get retired to the rack for 'occasional listening' (Definitly got that way with the new Masterplan after a month or so). Definitly top 10 or even top 5 of 2005 material.

This isn't metal, but indeed very good. Try Samael, great swiss metal.

It's not metal?
does that mean Def Leppard and Krokus aren't metal either?

Hair metal is a misnomer, it just means hard/glam rock.

Twisted Sister once challenged Manowar to a wrestling match, but Manowar never showed up...

Def leppard's first two albums are NWOBHM, and then moved to Hard Rock.

Krokus' debut album is Traditional Metal, and then moved to really gay, mediocre Cock Rock.

What do you consider their debut (Krokus)? I don't have that, but I def have the 2nd one, the Long stick one and Headhunter (on LP of all things), which are pretty decent AC/DC isnpired hard rock with some Metal touches, especially Headhuner (Eat the Rich is bad assed). After that they stunk. I don't think I would ever call them Trad Metal though even by 70's standards set by Priest, Rainbow and the Scorpions.
