out of all the BG i've heard so far, this definitely tops the list.

Agreed. Great album, not their best, but to each their own and all that silliness.

From the promo version I've heard this is far from beeing so bombastic as NIME or ANATO, and of course it suffered a bit from exprimentation, but IMO it deserved atlist a 90/100, ok I know this is coming from a Blind Guardian fan boy, but anyway 88/100 and 85/100 are not bad scores, and it was given from people who probably don't enjoy BG so much as I do, so it's understandable.

Well, take it as a quote of a guy who repeatedly worhips the ITTLG-DVD as humongously excellent and who holds Imaginations From The Other Side as one of the best albums ever (Gotta review that one, by the way). So I may not be as big a fanboy as you, dont know, but a huge fan nonetheless. And 90 and 88 arent that far from each other:)

I guess I was just disappointed for not seeing atlist a 90/100, after all they are my fav. band, not disappointed with the reviewer of course, you did an excellent job, but with the band instead. But who knows, maybe I'll like it more when I listen to the full version, the promo had those annoying voice overs "You are listening to the new BG album bla bla..." (damn you Nuclear Blast!), and since my fav. album is not IFTOS but ANATO I'll like this one more, if not, the hell with it, they already made NIME and ANATO, that's impossible to top.

Btw, are they still going to do that symphonic album with Hansi singing (a non-metal album)?

I have to admit that I am a little disappointed with this album. Don't get me wrong, it is a good and solid album but something is missing.

The thing that bothers me the most is the overall sound of the album. Especially the drum sound is weak and the guitars sound blurry.

But the most important thing is the music which is good, some songs are great like This Will Never End and The Edge. A solid Blind Guardian album with few highlights.

85/100

Never been a huge BG fan but from the clips I have heard I like it better than anything before. Seems a bit heavier which suits my tastes better. 'Another Stanger Me' is killer IMO.

Also, never been that much into the fantasy side of Power Metal but I have to admit that the album artwork is just sick! Up there with some of the coolest album covers I've seen.

85/100 for me. Not their best, but a great release. "Turn the Page" is fucking killer.

This is MUCH better than ANATO but not as good as NIME nor IFTOS imho.It actually sound like a mix between ANATO and IFTOS to me minus the annoying voiceovers of ANATO.

92/100 for me

I might be checking this one out eventually...I've got a huge list of "To-Buy" at the moment, but it definitely looks to be a good CD. I dunno if I'd buy it before Nightfall in Middle Earth (or whatever the other album is called), though.
