Excellent album, I totally agree with the score, around 90-95 for me. I really like the new direction Wrest has taken, some parts remind me of Deathspell Omega, which is great in my book.

Hopefully this won't be the last album from Leviathan, although rumors said otherwise...

Btw, how does compare Lurker of Chalice to Leviathan?

LOC are really good too. A little quieter and more mournful than Leviathan, and they use samples occasionally, but it's not too far removed from Leviathan.

Lurker of Chalice is more like ambient orientated, if i remember correctly.

Anyway, great album. 80/100

Oh, I suppose I should tell you that it was me who wrote that review, in case you hadn't heard yet.

Didn't Wrest wish to release this under the Lurker Of Chalice moniker?

Anyway, this is a great review. MCAAL gets a solid 90 from me. Not as good TOW, but better than TTSLOS, which I admit has become a tad bit stale. Maybe it just requires a certain mood -- I dunno...

Lol, in fact I thought to myself, who the fuck is James?
Nice review, keep 'em coming

An archive review of Abyssic Hate's Suicidal Emotions or Darkestrah's Epos would be nice, or some USBM like Weakling's Dead as Dreams :dio:

Good album. I like it better than TOW, it seems more coherent to me. I never got around to listen to the debut though.

I've had that Weakling album for ages, I should really give it a listen...

I think Wrest had some label problems or something, so he wanted to release it under the LOC name to get around that.

Great album, cant score it yet though.

Ready for over a year, quarrels between Leviathan's sole member, Wrest and his label Moribund Cult led to an attempt by Wrest to release the album under his Lurker Of Chalice project on Battle Kommand records.

Oh.

I really like this one. Wrest does everything good. And he has upped the musicianship a notch which is nice to see.

Tentacles is way better, but this isn't bad. 83/100.

I would love some of those unreleased LoC albums to begin circulating, though. The s/t is very unique and interesting.

I really liked the previous one, and have not quite gotten into this yet. Hope I'll change my mind soon though.
