I know this is getting to be an older review, but I'm listening to this demo now and figured I'd comment. Nice reviews, both for this release (and Levitating the Carnal which I haven't heard yet).

I have had Cold Walls and Apparitions for quite awhile and even though I don't listen to it all that often, I like it quite a bit. I think I may like this demo more (not sure yet), but one thing that seems immediately obvious - this release seems to have more "presence" than I remember with the other album. Cold Walls and Apparitions seemed to have everything pushed even further back and had less bottom end to it, making it even more sterile than this. It's been awhile since I listened to it though so I may be wrong there.

Anyway, I think this is interesting stuff also, and I have always kind of thought along the same lines as something you said in the other review: He's covering the same kind of ground that Xasthur is but is actually doing it better. Anyone who likes Xasthur or wanted to but could just never quite into Xasthur should consider checking this band out.
