The old-school influence here is huge. I don't think there is one blastbeaten section. It is very good though, reminds me a lot of Venom. Abbath even does a little half growling/half singing that works out rather nicely.

This is pretty good, but the songs are all kind of the same.. In the first listens i thought it was awesome but after some time the enthusiasm started fading away... This is nonetheless a good album..
Ill give it a 70

Finally got the chance to listen to this album and its getting better with every spin. I find it has a very original tone, in that it mixes the grandoise immortal sound with some more rockin' harmonies. Its totally obvious that Abbath's influence is totally dominant on this album, but i would have maybe liked to hear some of the other members put a bit of their ideas in to give this album even more color.

The Storm I Ride was cool, I'll have to get this album eventually.

I need to go to Wacken next year too. Seeing Immortal live would be quite an experience, I'd imagine. :dio:

But Abbath's sense of humor is out here. The band "I", as in short for Immortal since this isn't technically Immortal, but a part of it. And the album title "Between Two Worlds", meaning this jam CD (which it really is) is between the world of heavy and black metal. Sort of like a teaser as to what's to come in the future of Immortal. Awesome, fun CD and good to hear Abbath Doom Occulta on the vox again. He hasn't lost a single step.

Very cool CD. I'm not a huge fan of the vocals, but they fit the music and the riffing is awesome. Right now it's like about an 84 for me...I think this will help me get into black metal, since I haven't really heard much black metal but I'd like to get into it.

...The Storm I Ride makes me want to headbang :dio:
