Wonderful that Maudlin of the Well finally got reviewed. It is a stunning album and I'm glad it was well received.

A great album indeed and with its own very unique style effortlessly interchanging between darkness and aggression and serene dreamy parts. What impresses me the most is that even though the variation is enormous the album is still a coherent and quite emotional work. An album encompassing so many different elements could easily have become very messy if constructed poorer. Experimentation is not always a good thing depending on the execution, but in cases like this everything works out as a whole as well as individually impressive parts. The mellow clean male vocals doesn't always work well for me and I find them quite irritating at times which is the biggest beef I can think of regarding this album.

On a different note. This is probably the first review I have read that leaves a cliffhanger at the ending
