Nice to see something from my hometown reviewed... I know these guys... As for the music it's not my cup of tea, but they're skilled in what they are doing.

great album, one of my favourites of the year so far. i love the dynamics that "From Concious Sleep" (reminds me of Candlemass's instrumentals), "Escape the Crimson Sun" and "Monomania", as well as their new drummer's more classic rock style. they just announced a vinyl edition of the album that i'm gonna buy as soon as it comes out.

How come this album got the "Album of the Month" award when several albums this month got a much higher score than 81/100?
Im just curious here and im not critizing the review (which was well-written) or the score.

The album of the month / year scores are handed out on an individual basis. I haven't given that out in a long while, and I felt that this one was worthy, especially since it was released recently. It's not like we vote on an album and award it "album of the x". If it's better than everything else we were listening to that month, and reviewed within a (relativley) short time of its release date, it's probably going to get awarded.

Oh I see! Thanks for the clarification. I guess its better that way since each reviewer has different taste in metal and members can reflect on that.

Album of the month is designated for albums that score over 90 only. That rule has been in place since day one here at Metalreviews. There's no point in removing the moniker but just remember for next time..........

I picked this up some time ago but only got to listen to it now. What a fantastic album, guys. I'd rate this a 90 for the excellent balance, the nice ride throughout the playing time, and the fine musicianship. Oh, and Monomania. What a fantastic track. Those bass hooks...

I'm late (as I usually am with most things) in finding and appreciating this great band. I finally gave them a good listen then bought Sahg I and II a few days ago and I am thoroughly impressed. I feel the same as Karma, there's not a bad track to be had here and the musicianship is superb. I'll be listening to this album quite a bit.

Over the last few years this has grown into one of my favourite metal albums.
