Ulver is probably one of the more interesting bands out there. Each album is always different than they're previous one but they are always consistent when it comes to making a good album. I love this album, I love this band.

I agree. Ulver's shapeshifting nature is also what I love from them. I'm probably one of the few who even love Perdition City and Svidd Neger... :P

It sure is. The bass lines in Hallways of Always are just... otherwordly. Also love Garm's vocals on Porn Piece.

Also, I failed to mention it but the A Quick Fix of Melancholy EP is probably my favorite work from Ulver. Vowels just sends chills down my spine.

Dude, Garm is easily one of the greatist vocalists out there. I think he puts Maynard and Akerfeldt to shame. His vocals he did on Homecoming off of Ihsahn's Adversary album are amazing. Check out Head Control System if you havent heard them. Another group featuring Garm. They did a cover of Seal's Kiss From A Rose and he made that song awesome.

I did love the HCS album. :)

I hope it's not a one-off side-project, really. It took a few spins to sink in me but it's become a relatively regular listen. But then, nearly everything the man touches becomes awesome.

I didn't like HCS  Kiss From A Rose was awesome though, and not just because the original was my favorite song when I was 5.

Indeed. I figure Perdition City is my favorite Ulver album of all time. A quick fix of melancholy is not far behind. Both albums demand expensive(!) equipment for the ultimate experience, meaning $2000+ speakers with a sub or $500+ headphones/earplugs.

Ulver is awesome, this is their best album IMHO, and Seal is more metal than all of you combined. The man has Lupus and still scored Heidi Klum. What's wrong with liking "Kiss From a Rose" anyways, it's certainly more interesting than whatever pap Disturbed is churning out.
