Good album! I think I like this one a little better than Northwind. Love "Man of the Hour" and "Mountain Men" (both have really cool fanfare like melody breaks). I also love "Vargaskall". This song reminds me alot of old Mithyton with the double bass drum blast beats. I like how it switches tempos between fast and slow.

Oh yeah? Well, Falconer is my favorite power metal band Northwind is my favorite of theirs so I'm sort of biased but man, Spirit of the Hawk just has to be Falconer's best song, IMO.

I was hoping Northwind wouldn't be a fluke, with the return of Mathias and everything... and the new album doesn't disappoint! Easily in my top 10 of 2008. Those who like power metal and skipped this band are urged to change that. [/i]

I still think the first two are their best and Sceptre of Deception is a very close third.

The first one is by far the best, but this one has some awesome moments. They've definitely toned down the speed, but the melodies are still there. Actually the guitar work has become a ton better too. Great album, 75/100.

I thought this was an amazing album, Northwind is only slightly better in terms of songwriting and the guitar work. As for the vocals, Mathias is at his very best here and im glad they played around with the songs to suit his vocal talents. Id probably give it 86-89/100.
