From what I've heard, this album seems to be quite impressive. They also seemed to have this fresh sound that could light a spark in how Power Metal should be done today... at least if it's done this way.
Still this album is on my wantlist.

As I said last week, this is much better than the debut. Georg's English is much better and the choirs and orchestrations add so much more. I always liked progressive power and these guys, along with Suspyre and Lanfear, have released some of the best albums of the year (only in that genre, mind you).

The new Suspyre really surprised me. It's really great but if you know and liked their past releases, you'll find the sound has become much, much darker. The general tone of the new Suspyre is just very somber compared to their previous outings.

To the best of my understand, I believe the guy is an English teacher in Austria, so I wouldn't equate "better lyrics" with "better english"

Well if so, then I guess it's just me. I hear a few pronounciation quirks here and there on the first album. Either way, the lyrics between the two albums aren't so far off, IMO.

And for the record, there are far worse when it comes to bad English pronounciation... I can name a slew of Italian bands like that and a lot of other bands with a Latin-based language although it's not their fault; speaking a foreign-rooted language makes it much harder. So in the end, it was just some nitpicking on my part, really. :)

I did an English paper that included some Vision Divine lyrics. I got it back with red ink all over the damn place. Sometimes these guys just need to ask "how would you have written that phrase" to some fans on myspace. It would make those people's year that they were consulted about lyrics to a metal album they like
