I've been listening to this baby since yesterday, reading your review got me immediately interested. The Rock n' Roll and headbanging attitude is quite noticeable through the album, and strangely I liked it. This is much better than the last two Satyricon albums. The vocals reminds me a little of those of Mikko Aspa, of Deathspell Omega, which is great for me 'cause I'm a big Dso fanboy  .

I didn't caught hints of progressiveness though, this is quite straightforward. They have another album. also in 2007, selftitled; have you heard that one, if so, is in the same direction as Assorted Armament?

Your score is fair, mine will be 78 right know, I consider a very good album, not outstanding, but maybe that'll change in the next few days, who knows?

:dio:

I've got their first one, not listened yet but as far as I'm aware it's the same sort of thing. Interested to hear their next album coming out on Candlelight, as I said in the review.
