An ok album, a solid performance by obviously talented musicians, nice melodies. The thrashy songs are great, there should have been more of them.

However, I find it very hard to label this black metal, since it lacks the first thing about it. It just hasn't got the atmosphere and it is nowhere near being a black metal masterpiece, not even close. I usually hate this kind of super-fast music but his one has enough melody in it to keep me listening and enjoying some of it. 65/100

edit: And I'm wondering, could a classic guitar-flamenco thingy be more out of place than this one? Hardly, a big no for a black metal album, but oddly enough I enjoyed its melody, haha!

This album made me enjoy some of the things I'm almost fascisticly and dogmatically hateful to find in black metal, well done to these guys. Had Frost been in the drums this would have been even better.

I don't label them as Black Metal, and sincerily?? 100/100

The Flamenco is out of place? For someone who don't consider this black, are you shure you are not listening to it expecting some black metal arises? bah! It's in the right place at the right time!

This album is P E R F E C T ! ! ! It made me the creeps, remembering the feeling and the thrashy riffs from Immortal, adding some fantastic melodic components! The vocals are some of the best I've listen for a long time now, and the drumming is just fabulous! The choirs are just  wow! ;)

Get this! You won't regreat it people!

Sorry, you're right. I made confusion. Yet, 65 is totally underrating this album.

I heard the Sample track in a news item a while back, and it was pretty damn cool, so ill definitely be getting this next time i order some stuff off the net.

Im not really expecting grim, atmospheric black metal, so im sure i wont be disappointed like kathaarian.

There's nothing called atmospheric black metal. Black metal IS atmospheric, which this album isn't. I wasn't expecting a grim kvlt whatever bm album, but I wasn't expecting it to be so far away from black metal too.

And I was not dissapointed, on the contrary, I was positively surprised.

What i meant was that if the atmosphere isnt dark, i wouldnt mind, as the atmosphere that most BM is embedded with is one of anger\sadness\whatever.

sorry i misjudged your post. So you think its ok, but better than expected?

is it just me, or are black/death/doom metal covers beginning to look suspiciously like power metal covers?

Thanks Man this was exactly what I was going to post to a T. Glad someone else besides me feels this way.

1. This is NOT Black Metal, not even close.

2. Sacramentum already did this Dissection come lately style better and almost 10 years ago. Get a couple of their albums and see.

3. It is talented and all of that and that Black Uncharted song is great but it gets old by the 4th song with the same riff.

YEAH! I had been spamming that band for a while here as well. Check out Far Away From The Sun for GOOD black metal that's like old Dissection but just, ehm, better.

I think that cover is badass! Of course, it looks like the cover of a movie I would love. Still, I don't think it looks power metal.

So, if this isn't black metal, what is it? Extreme?

Reminds me of the cover to Turisas - Battle Metal.

It definitely doesn't suck. It's possible that it's not black metal, but I am knowledgable enough to know there is some black metal involved.
