That bad, eh? The samples I heard were average, but all the same, I can't remember anything from them.

Horna's been hit-or-miss with me... they have some really great albums under their belt like Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaavne or Ääniä Yössä... but there's also duds like this one or Sudentaival (the latter one mostly because it was just dull)... those who sampled this album and didn't like what they heard should definitely check out the aforementioned albums or early Horna (pre-2000).

Right... Well you are entitled for your opinion. I personally find this to be a superb album.

I like Ääniä Yössä, is the new one comparable to that?

It's just my opinion but yeah, it is fairly comparable. This one (to me) lacks the sicknening, horrendous atmosphere that was found throughout Ääniä Yössä (probably because it was a concept about the black plague and they conveyed that damn well).

This one seems to have more diversity and stagnates less but... it just doesn't grab me the way the likes of Ääniä Yössä did. If you like pure, blasting BM with a very hateful and angry attitude, this album should be your thing. I said "dud" but I didn't mean it like it's a bad album. It's just that it doesn't feel the same to me and I don't like it as much as Ääniä Yössä or Horna's early albums.

I used to trash these guys when I was a fucking retard. But disc 1 at least is one of the band's best albums, just great riffs throughout with lots of melodic moments as well. I might have to play it its been a few months since I last did.

Wise observation.

Probably my favorite from a consistently underrated band.
