Zad, you are right about many things but personally I feel you way overrate this record. IMO it is the best Ephel Duath album (haven't heard Phormula, only Rephormula) but still not a 93. Maybe in the 80s. They remind me a bit of Sikth in the sense that they obviously can do incredibly cool things but I always feel like they underrachieve... maybe it's me just being too demanding.
But you are definitely right that they do the "jazz" thing a lot more authentically than most other bands that get labelled the same.
Saw them live a couple of years back which was wicked (probly more fun than their records), although horror of horrors the stupid venue fucked up and people who arrived on time were still queuing outside halfway through their set
Then, they went off, only to be replaced by that definition of cookie-cutter metalcore, Poison the Well, who got to play twice as long.
