Riffs per se are just not a big part of their sound, so I'm not sure what a guitar would actually add. It would probably sound just like the lead bass parts which mimic a guitar well enough.

Anyways, I found the two free samples enjoyable, kind of poppy, but interesting. At times they sound a bit like the latest Therion.

I thought the various different elements is a great part of the albums charm. Every song is different, and most of them are quite good in my taste. I would've hoped for some crazier bass action though.

Maybe not the catchiest album in the history of metal, but I found it worth the effort.

(Note: Personally I gave the album the effort because I know someone from the band, propably wouldn't have bothered based on just the MySpace testers. Take that context however you like. In any case, I wouldn't have bothered to sign up and comment if I didn't think the album is actually worth it. Not for everyone though.)
