I've to disagree with you this time mate. It's true that this album is more aggressive, less atmospheric than Hrimthursum, but the blackened epic melodies are still there. And a song about la Santisima Muerte (Holy Death), who's quite popular here in Mexico, made me smile :)

I do agree that Hrimthursum is a bit better, but Death to All will end in my top 5 Death Metal releases of the year, I'm quite sure. Give it more time Alex, you won't regret it  You were expecting another sound, it's obvious you're not in the mood for this right now, but you'll be later. When I first heard Verisäkeet (Moonsorrow's fourth album) I didn't like at all. I missed the bombastic epicness and folky melodies of the first three albums, but now I love it. Same thing happened with Deathspell Omega, it took me 3 years to understand Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice :P Just to clarify, Death to All is not as good those two godly (or unglody) early mentioned albums, but it's a very solid effort in a quite slow year (quality, not quantity) for Death Metal.

Sounds like this album might be a bit underwhelming after Hrimthursum but I'll definitely pick it up. Favorite of the band still remains Darkside for me, closely followed by 3rd Antichrist.

Hopefully it'll do like Verisäkeet, like AlexandeR said before me. I still don't "get" DsO but I can definitely relate to Moonsorrow's last two full-lengths taking a bit to grow.

Thanks for reading AlexandeR. Maybe you are right and I had some very preconceived notions and expectations. I got to put this away for a few months at least, then pick up again and treat it as whole new album. We'll see what happens.

Actually, I think this one's much better than Hrimthursum. Hrimthursum had 4 great songs and the rest less memorable, here there are basically no fillers.

This album doesn't do much for me at all. I definitely agree with Alex on the album being one dimensional and having no mystery and that certain depth which Hrimthursum had. The riffing on Death To All seems uninspired. I suppose to take the album for what it is... It's decent Swedish death metal.

This album has really grown on me. I would rate it as an 80.
