This album simply RULES! Lowe's voice gives me goose bumps.

And I was speaking to John a while back, and he said a new Solitude album is coming. :dio:

Still haven't heard this, unfortunately. I'll make it a priority.

Bleeding Baroness and Dead Angel are me favorites. Love this album. Possibly my favorite Candlemass album ever. I love Lowe's vocals and the sporadic highlights on King of The Grey are not filled out into an entire album and I love it. The riffs are to die for. Wow this is a great album.

My first real Candlemass album, and what a place to start. This is all kinds of awesome.

Excellent review Adam, this is album of the year for me so far, such a great improvement over king of the grey islands and thats saying something, seriously Lowe joining the band is the best thing that could ever happen to Candlemass after Messiah left out, Hand Of Doom, Demon Of The Deep and My Funeral Dreams are fucking killer, Rob really shines on this one, the us version comes with the bonus track Lucifer Rising wich also kick ass.

I've been a bad boy and still only have the download. Is the version of "Lucifer Rising" the same as the one on the EP?

Just checked out "The Bleeding Baroness" and I think it's a great song. Haven't heard anything by Candlemass... is this a good place to start?

Hells yeah. Albeit their old vocalist was a lot different but the general songwriting and riffs are comparable.

+1
It's a good place, it's a great album, one of the tops of this year. And after that, their 4 first albums (3 with Messiah Marcolin)

One of their best in a long time.

This is my first real experience with Candlemass and I am impressed. I've heard an occasional song of theirs before but never anything this good.

Did you ever listen to me and check out Solitude Aeturnus?

Went ahead and checked out The Bleeding Baroness...I guess doom metal just isn't my thing--it seemed like a pretty good song, but if that's the best, I don't think I would enjoy a whole album. Seems kinda like heavy metal without the energy.

That'd be a (shit, whats the opposite of 10-4?.) 10-1? good buddy.
Meaning, message not received.

If you like one you'll like the other situation?

:omfg: :omfg:

No way dude, doom metal is some of the heaviest shit you can listen to. And energy? You need to hear Black Stone Wielder or Doom All Over The World.

That said, I really need to check this one out, since only a few weeks ago I checked out King of the Grey Islands, and TBH it was OK but it wasn't as good as their other albums.

TBH Death Magic Doom rapes King of the Grey Islands.
