I didn't expect this to be any good, not after EMDM, so I'm not even going to listen to it once, heh.

I still have to listen to this, I'm pretty curious.

Eat Me Drink Me was actually a good CD, a personal CD. This one is Manson's attempt to dumb himself down and regain his past audience while trying to sprinkle some "creativity" within. He hasn't realized that most of his past audience has either grown up to be deathcore poseurs or just moved on to other avenues to vent unjustifiable angst against capitalism, religion, and other cool things to be blindly angry at.

My friend who is a big Manson fan said this was a return to him making good music. I don't know about that I'll have to hear it now.

the band attempted to continue the same style from the previous album. Unfortunately most of the energy is just not there and, aside from the few tracks that stand out, it falls flat.
There was energy in Eat Me Drink Me? This album definitely does get boring. It seems to lack any substantial bits and I doubt more listens will bring any out.

Manson, like most people, has gotten older and mellower. I actually think this is a decent album. A different kind of album, though. Very good but not great, which is rather consistent for him. I only think the debut is great. I fucking love that album.

Yeah, agreed that this release lacks substance, but I thought there was plenty of energy in EMDM! Putting Holes In Happiness? Red Carpet Grave? Songs like those at least got me excited for the music. On this album I do not hear that nearly as much.

So I'm thinking Devour is the best song on this album.
