Having liked 11 Dreams I want to give this a whirl.

Honestly, this album made me miss the old singer. With the new guy, it just sort of reminds me of a Soilwork/Scar Symmetry/Raunchy/some other band I can't really think at the moment right now, kinda thing. Not entirely similar, of course, but I felt the old vocalist gave them a bit more personality.

I'd agree with teh score. Hours that Remain and 11 Dreams are better, though.

I'm glad you reviewed this album, it was one of my favorites when I first started listening to Melodic Death Metal.

I agree with the score you gave, but I disagree with you about the clean vocals. I think that they give Mercenary a bit of a twist compared to other similar bands.

11 Dreams and The Hours That Remain are very strong albums, both are around 90-93 to me. This one was a very big disappointment.. They somehow simplified their style and songs to the level of two latest Soilwork's creations... About Soilwork I have to add, the only listenable and even good album to me is Natural born Chaos, but after that one I totally lost interest in their music...

Back to this one: catchy songs, no doubt, but the only exceptionally excellent song here is Isolation, IMO. 70/100

I'd take A Predator's Portrait over NBC, just sayin'. Anything after NBC is pretty much a let down, IMO.
