Good review! Criminally underrated band. In fact, I think this should belong in the classics section. It doesn't get more classic than this album when it comes to death/thrash.

yeah... In three years! Fantastic band. Their earlier stuff falls short of this though.

Yeah, Deathrace is when the band really started to stick out. I like this one just a little bit more than Crowned in Terror, myself. It's too bad the remnants of this band has become the unimpressive Angel Blake... although Lindstrand's One Man Army and the Undead Quartet kicks ass, IMO... but not anywhere as much as The Crown.

I hate how nearly no one I've met has heard of one of the best bands to grace metal.

You do? Well, I'll admit the self-titled debut had some good stuff (Lycanthropy, The Forsaken and Thousand Storms) and that I do own and spin it once in a while but the follow up really didn't do it for me.

Very different in style from The Crown, though. Don't go into Deathrace King expecting some heavy gothic-ish metal or you're in for a surprise.

I've only listened to Possessed 13.. Didn't really like it to tell you the truth, was never a big fan of Death/Thrash, but ill check this out anyways. The review got me interested.

Well, you really should. Honestly, I'm not big on "pure" thrash (like 80s thrash) myself. But I like some death/thrash stuff when the thrash element isn't more present than the death sound. Stuff like Hatesphere's Ballet of the Brute, for example.

Possessed 13 was more of a nearly melodeath shift for them but Crowned in Terror and Deathrace King are much more brutal and frantic. More death than thrash and pretty brutal.

All I've heard is Crowned in Terror and it is one of my favorite albums. I always thought everything else they did was shit, or was told so anyway. I guess I've been mislead. I'll need to check this out.

Amazing band. One of the best bands of their own genre. I don't think they have released a bad album under this name.

This album is one of my favorite albums ever. Every track is
just awesome! Too bad they split up, I'm glad I was able to see
them live a few times before that happened, :)

.:crast:.

You've definitely been mislead. Deathrace King is even better than Crowned In Terror and Hell Is Here is great too. Perhaps Possessed 13 is a bit of a step down, but even that is pretty good. I never got around to listen to their first two albums, the ones they released under the name Crown of Thorns, some friends told me those are pretty kick ass too.

I won't promise you that you'll love it at first, but good starters would be Back From the Grave, Rebel Angel, and I Won't Follow for some fucking great melodeath tunes, and Executioner: Slayer of the Light, and Blitzkrieg Witchcraft for the more aggressive and intense side.

Maybe because they're from Trollhottan?

Anyway, this isn't Gothenburg metal. Far from it.
