This band is raw as fuck and after seeing them live, I know this band will hit it big very soon. They play that really nihilistic hardcore/grind that is ignored for fluffier bands, and its good to see them getting the credit they deserve, great review

HE IS NEVER COMING BACK!!! insert twangy sweet ass guitar riff.

This is my favorite of their 2 albums. Agree much more with this review than the implicit negativity in the review of their debut. One discrepancy is the emphasis on groove in this. I see it more as a sludginess. Totally agree with Steve about this band breaking it big, riding on Converge's coattails will probably be the route.

I'll admit it takes some time to get the catchiness. This album is probably the better starting point of the two.

I'd add Canine Disposal Unit to the Killing Songs.

@Khelek: Is Bird Eater next? I generally consider that the lackluster version of Gaza.

Haven't heard them, but perhaps I'll check em out. I really hope these guys do make it big, they have a lot of talent and a real knack for creative song writing.

As for the groove, I can definitely see what you mean about it having a sludgy quality at times, certainly in the song The Astronomer that I mentioned. The tempo of most of the other songs just makes it feel more like groove to me.

Bird Eater is the same guys but the Utah EP I've heard just wasn't as good.
