I must get more of this band's albums. Only have Black Moon and Cthonic Chronicles. Ooh, going to stick the latter on now.

I just listened to Chthonic Chronicles last night. :dio: And may I suggest Starfire Burning upon the Ice-Veiled Throne of Ultima Thule as your next Bal-Sagoth listen? It's one of their better ones.

This album is awesome. Usually don't go for this kind of stuff, but Bal Sagoth is one of the most original bands out there. And Byron's story telling voice is wonderful. The guitarist writes some really awesome leads and riffs. Best space metal band ever.

Bal-Sagoth is fucking classic. I have all of their albums, I got turned onto them way back early in highschool by a good friend of mine... We were always looking for cheesy power metalish kinda crap, and stumbled upon this very album.

I never understood the poor review for the other 2 albums reviewed here, as well.

I think all of their albums are must have's, I'm tellin' ya. :dio:

I'm truly surprised at how many people on here like Bal-Sagoth... But it's a very good thing. :dio:

I'd go so far as to say it's their only good one... well A Black Moon etc, etc. has it's moments.

My fav are the first 3, in this order:

Starfire Burning Upon The Ice ...
Battle Magic
A Black Moon Broods Over Lemuria

The rest has their moments, specially The Chthonic Chronicles, but I really find this one & Atlantis Ascendant inferior to the first 3.

It's a good album, but don't deserving that high score, a 75-79 for me. Starfire is the one which deserves a 95.

The Power Cosmic and Starfire Burning are their best, in my opinion... The rest, I don't think I'd give above a 90, except for Chthonic Chronicles.

This is the only Bal-Sagoth album I can listen to all the way through. it's also the first one I bought...so I think its the best. Also, I think I would call this story metal.

This album would be solid if that guy would stop narrating every fucking second and stop making fucking samples that sound like the NFL Sunday night football intro from the nineties.
