Though I love almost everything Darkthrone does, I still kinda wish they remained a death metal band. This album is fantastic!

Cool review, Zad. This album has been lying around for years without being listened to, and this makes me want to play it again.

Black Metal is probably my favorite genre, but ironically I prefer the Death Metal side of Darkthrone. I've never liked too much their highly appreciated trilogy. Mayhem isn't my cup of tea either. I'd stick with Emperor, Immortal, Satyricon, Ulver and Burzum.

Death metal to me was the style they should have kept playing. This album is the shit.

I love that album cover. I had a t-shirt with that album cover on it for years, and on the back was this ridiculous picture of Fenriz with his middle finger extended, and the text 'rapists of your dreams of heaven.'

Good album, too.

I've always felt this was quite an underrated piece of work. I've never come across anything that really sounded like it since. I know why the made the switch to BM though, that style of music fits their personality bertter.

Superb album, and possibly the best piece of coverart ever.
