I must say, I was expecting a review canning this album, going by the comments made by someone on that massive thread a couple of weeks ago.

Still, I liked the review, but of course have different opinions on a few things. I would have given it a higher score for one (around 86-90). It most definately is better than the previous album, but I just think that 16.6 needed more credit, as it is a top return to form...

Good review still...

I think most people knowsmy opinion... They have been goping downhill since Seven Seals, and this is another low-point. Can't believe I wasted my money on this. 40 / 100

You didn't like Seven Seals?? :omfg: It's one of my favorites.
I know that Primal Fear is far from what they used to be, but that doesn't mean I can't like their current sound AND the old one, even though I'll always love classic PF more. It's kinda like Metallica; though I love them as a thrash band, that doesn't mean I can't like them as a groove metal band.

Oh. Well that's much more understandable.
Yeah, New Religion pretty much sucked though.

'New Religion' was terribly weak and this one '16.6' is even worse. PF have lost their way. A score of 77 was very gracious. This cd is very uninspired.

Uninspired, sure, as I said in my review. But I also said that Primal Fear was never that original in the first place; they just played really, really fucking heavy metal.

If 16.6 is around 86-90 then the score for Nuclear Fire would be around 136-140.

I'm not taking a swipe at your review. Please don't feel that you need to defend your position. Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion and I am perfectly ok with your review. I made the comment more from my own perspective, meaning if I were to give it a score it would have been lower. No worries sir

I think we should get into the whole Ralf Scheepers wishes he was Rob Halford debate. It's one of my favs.

I dunno why I'm really posting in this topic. I have a Primal Fear album, but it was extremely underwhelming, generic power metal. I think it's off hiding somewhere collecting dust, because it's not in my main collection. lol.

I wasn't defending my review, persay. You can call my review utter shit and I wouldn't bat an eye. Bahaha. Rather, I was just reinstating my own opinion, because that's who I am: I make sure my voice is heard. Haha.

I'm surprised it took so long to mention that fact. Hahaha.

But which album are you letting collect dust?? If it's New Religion, that's okay, if it's Devil's Ground, that's acceptable... anything else is sacrilige.

I think it's Black Sun but I'm not entirely sure, I'd have to find it. >_>

You just made me die a little bit inside. Black Sun is their best after Nuclear Fire.

I have their entire discography and I think 16.6 is their weakest release. It lacks the speed and energy of their earlier CDs, while at the same time, is missing the epic-ness and creativity found on the slower mid-paced songs on their more recent CDs.

A couple of decent tracks that don't stand up to what they've created in the past.

Haha... I didn't hate it or anything... But I'm not huge on power metal, and it sounded a little generic to me. It was a well done album on all accounts, just not my kinda thing.

This band was never worth a damn. Ralph Scheepers wasnt even good with Gamma Ray. He should have sung for Judas Priest for a little while and then gone away. ha ha,

Not true. Primal Fear is a good metal band. Sure they may not be as exciting as they used to be, but, the same thing can be said for many a band... and Ralf Scheepers isn't good!? I think you just managed to make my dinner fly around in my stomach.
