Fine review. However, you forgot to list Anubis as a killing song.

I love Greek metal. I prefer Rotting Christ, but I always liked Septic Flesh too, very solid and original band. Great comeback album.

Fuck therion, Septicflesh is better in every way possible. It's great that they've been able to release something this good after so many years of inactivity. Sumerian Demons is also amazing, probably even better.

Yeah. Less catchy perhaps, but seems to reach deeper.

Finally heard this and wow is it amazing. It's like CoF but actually good and similar to Rotting Christ except better. Annubis, We the Gods and Sunlight Moonlight are my favorite tracks. This is one of my favorite albums this year.

this is the album of 2008! However, black metal?? This is nowhere near close. There is not one typical black metal-riff or vocal piece on this album. This is death metal all the way, with orchestrations. To put it simply symphonic death metal!

The Great Mass was SF first album for me... I loved everything about it so obviously I became interested in their back catalog....However This album and Sumerian Daemons just aren't doing it for me... The Great Mass is held in such high regards personally and maybe that is the reason for the feeling of being let down by these albums, also it may be because I am listening to their albums in the complete opposite order, missing their progression as a band.. Whatever the case may be, This album and Sumerian Daemons would most likely fall in the 70s range for me, while the Great Mass deserves the 90's rating it got.........

I took the complete opposite view of the last three Septic Flesh albums, but then I heard Sumerian Daemons and Communion before Black Mass, so perhaps there is something to your hypothesis about when one heard the albums.

Communion was the first of theirs and my favorite now. Hmmmm...
