Love Gentle Art of Making Enemies but never fell in love with the rest.

A really good review of an old favourite of mine, you really nailed that scattershot kind of feeling with this album. Some of the tracks here number among my top FNM songs (King for a Day, Ricochet, Gentle Art...), but others are almost forgettable (The Last to Know, What A Day). Always enjoyable to go back to now and then for a little reminiscing, and a good old-fashioned singalong. My cousin actually gave me a birthday card back in '03 with "It's always funny until someone gets hurt..." on the front, with "...and then it's just hilarious!" following in the middle. Good times.

There is nothing experimental about this album.

It is great, though.

There is a lot of experimental stuff as the band clearly experimented with numerous sounds and influences to broaden their range.

And this is a classic. My favorite by FNM, and that's saying a lot! :dio:

Very accurate review (though I would've given it 75).

In some ways it's excellent and in others it's not. I do miss Jim Martin's guitar sound and riffs though.
