I was pleasantly surprised by this release. It is not that much different than what Dave Grhol did on his Probot project or what Iommi did on his solo effort; gathering a variety of musicians to help create something that has some strong moments and some not so strong. There isn't much of a consistency when it comes to these types of releases as each song sounds as if it could have been released by the vocalists who sing on them. However, it's Slash's signature guitar sound and playing that is the one constant. I still find it refreshing. The remake of Paradise City kicks ass and Fergie can sing it as good as Axl! :dio:

Is there a reason why you have the biggest Slash hater alive reviewing this album?

I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't think Guns N Roses is the be all end all, but I think it would make more sense to have someone who at least LIKED Appetite for Destruction enough to not wince at the thought of someone doodling Sweet Child O Mine at a guitar store.

Whoever wrote this obviously had an axe to grind against Slash, and you know what? It may be a shitty album, but I'd rather hear it from someone who actually respects the artist's guitar work. Let's face it, the people who are curious about the Slash album on this site are likely Guns n Roses fans.

Also, the weird preoccupation with what 13 year olds are fans of doesn't help because pop culture tastes are really irrelevant for most people here. Who cares what teeny boppers like?

I know it's impossible to not have a bias when reviewing music, but seriously, this might as well have been Sarah Palin reviewing a 1992 Bill Clinton speech.

I love Appetite for Destruction, it's a great album. Quit whining.

Doesn't mean I can't call out Slash for having lost all relevancy and maintained all image.

Maybe the writer is in truth Axl Rose.

I think this album is at least a 85, despite the fact that it doesn't sound like old GNR.

I actually liked some of the the songs on here. I guess it must be my inner 13-year-old dictating my tastes?

I'd rank this review as: Uninformative.
