Yeah, the first 3 albums were "crushing" but on Fire Dances, I simply hear Bauhaus and even Echo & the bunnymen. It was 100% post-punk

After that, their style changed a LOT. 80's synthetizers, like a New Order clone. It wasn't bad at all but FAR from crushing.

MY personal favorite is the fantastic Democracy, released in 1996. What a great album.

You're saying "crushing" like I said that in the review, but I never meant to imply they were always this heavy. Not heard Fire Dances, tbh, heard enough bad things to make me want to get extremely familiar with the rest of their discog first. Still a band that more people need to know about.
