Nice review, It made for interesting reading.I discovered this band on aorheaven.com and got the cd about 1 week ago. My take on things is it s a good album it makes for a good listen , the score is too high and I would put Masterplan - Aeronautics well ahead of this one on the 2005 list of albums.

On the topic of new melodic metal I much prefered the new Cloudscape - Cloudscape , vocals rip

Yea, Cloudscape is definitely getting more playtime than Starbreaker. When I heard Starbreaker, I wasn't hearing too much melodic metal, and more standard mid-tempo Melodic Rock. Cloudscape is what I think of when I think of Melodic Metal. I think it's mostly because I'm a big fan of keyboards, which Starbreaker really doesn't have any of.

Edit: Thanks for the indirect suggestion, flying_guitars :-)

I agree with the review, this is a heck of an album, ive never even knew that this side project was in existence, so once i knew Harnell was in it, of course i need it to check it out. First listen i thought heavy as hell for anything that Harnell has ever done and melodic and catchy as heck too, they sound like a mix of Masterplan and TNT on steroids like Mike said . All the songs are killer, even that little instrumental, i say melodic metal is right on, so the keyboards are not dominant, big deal imo, everything else makes up for it, i agree about this probably being one of the best albums of the year, and thats saying alot, its been a great year for metal overall, Kamelot which i have #1 as album of the year so far, Masterplan also and now this. Wow can it get any better? Hopefully and i hope this band continues on as a band not like other side projects who just dissapear into thin air.
