This got reviewed in October? Wait...did it get an early Canadian release or something?

Either way, a great album. In some respects, I think it's a little weaker than the debut, namely in the catchiness of the songs. The debut had bigger hooks, while this latest is a bit more subdued, focusing on, as the review states, more complex songwriting.

It still works, but with bigger, better hooks, this album could have been downright brilliant.

I imagine this is why there were issues with the old label wanting the band to keep writing; there are no "hits" on this one.

Yes I think this was released earlier in Canada than the rest of N. America, but I just had to hear it as soon as I could get my hands on it. I wouldn't say there are no "hits" on this one, Raccoon Eyes and The Firebird are particularly catchy, but yeah it does lack some of the energy and seamless transitions the debut had.

Oh, a couple could be minor hits, but nothing big.

And we got two bonus tracks, "Castle Dracula" and "Dweller." You heard them?

Actually no I haven't, I'll have to check them out.
