A personal favorite of mine, and my gateway to Mike Patton's other projects (Faith No More most importantly of all). Honestly, I never knew what Dead Goon was about prior to reading this review, though I knew that, compared to the other songs on the album, there was something much darker going on, despite some of the... erm... humor. The pendulous creaking sounds in particular were most disturbing.

I love all the songs on here, as they all have their little genius moments - the carnival sounds of Carousel, the 'No Place Like Home' bit of Egg, and the hilarious meltdown of My Ass Is On Fire. That said, I do find myself skipping Stubb (A Dub) and Slowly Growing Deaf, as I feel they aren't to par with the other songs. Maybe they'll grow on me.

But yeah, a legendary album from a legendary band. This is what KoRn dreams of sounding like.

This should be a classic.

Regardless, great review.

Dead Goon is probably my favorite. For some reason, I always thought it was about Freud... oh well. That bassline that comes in right after the demented circus theme climaxes is one of my favorite things ever.

Yeah. Some weeks or archives that should have been classics, but well, it's a great review and a great album.
