I like the dudes' guitar playing but they need more catchy/memorable stuff, especially when it comes to vocals.

not to keen on the vocals, but the riffs and abundant melodies make up for them. I haven't heard one good argument about why anyone would consider them 'hipster metal'.

Yeah, vox are pretty bad. I liked the Red Album though. I'll get around to checking this out.

Vocals are not bad. This album is fucking awesome. The riffs and melodies make up for any weaknesses.

All I know is that The Sweetest Curse is a really good song that makes me feel good inside. I'll check this out for sure.

I liked their myspace samples so much I bought the CD!

Seriously good listen. Like Mastodon crossed with Pelican.

I'm starting to like this a lot more as I get more familiar with the vocal melodies. Tons of stuff going on in it but without feeling technical or whatever, which is awesome.

That's a really good description.

Swollen and Halo is a great song. The melodies on here are really catchy. I need to check out the Red Album.

This video made my skin tingly in a way that Baroness don't normally do. Not sure why. Now I really want to see them live.

I agree with you that it is a great video, but you sure have a strange way of describing how you feel about it.

I didn't love Baroness till I saw them live. I didn't really even like them so if you already appreciate them you'll do so 10x more after their show.

I bumped up my score a little after about two more listens of the album. It's still nowhere near as good as Red but songs such as Swollen and Halo and some of the more ambient guitar bits show the band are still good. I wonder if their next album will be as good as Red.

I think both Red Album and Blue Record are on the same level of greatness. Can't wait to hear more from these guys.
