I must agree with you. What used to be a revolutionary new way for bands to promote themselves has become a tiresome chore.

It's amazing how fast MySpace fell off overall and not just from a music perspective. Everyone has ditched it and moved to Facebook.

No website should reproduce audio unless you click on it, i agree with you Zad its fucking annoying, web browsers should focus on creating a script for blocking auto playing tunes.

+1. The ridiculous layouts on myspace is what ruins it for me.

Couldn't agree more with editorial. That shit is so annoying

Noodz has it right though, youtube is the way to go.

I think both Myspace and Facebook are boring as batshit, yet I have both. I've contemplated deleating both of them, but as you said, Myspace is good for keeping up with all metal news.

I too now stick with youtube to find a new song or whatever it may be.

And for the record, I've never come across a comment which contained an auto-playing song...but I'm sure that would be bloody annoying

I've come across a couple, but not enough to make an editorial out of it.

Myspace is still the best when you want to quickly check out the essence of a band without spending too much effort.

YouTube is probably the best way I've come across to discover new bands. I can't even begin to count the number of bands I've bought albums from that I never would have bothered with before if I hadn't heard a few songs on YouTube. That site has serious marketing potential. I don't know if that potential's been exploited yet, because most songs I come across are on unofficial channels, but up and coming bands would be fools to pass it up.

I hate that fucking stupid blogs with music on. I'd usually open a lot of tabs with firefox, and trying to detect who's the bastard with music on is just annoying.

I use more youtube than myspace to listen/discover music.

wow... I was talking to Zad when he was writing this and said that nobody would care and they would all think he was wierd for getting so het up about it.

It's true I do also use youtube much more nowadays because of speed of use.

HA! I didn't know it was such a big deal. Then again, I can't remember the last time I listened to a band on myspace. Youtube for me too.

I think you're right insofar as Zad focused on the songs in comments. Everybody else is just complaining about myspace itself.
