I'm really wishing I had put down the few extra dollars so I could get my pre-order from Amazon tomorrow. I'll probably have to wait a week to get it now.... I cannot wait, especially after reading this. Nice review, Thomas.

One of the best thrash releases in the last few years. The veterans show the kids how it should be done. Every song is great and they are very catchy. This album is near perfect. :dio:

Immolation destroys most bands IMO. Coming to Overkill, this band is :dio: .

One of the few albums that I think everybody agrees on. This just flat out kicks ass. Songwriting, riffs, vocals, are all awesome. :dio:

One of the few thrash bands that's still every bit as awesome now as they were 20 years ago.

Bring Me The Night = Pure NWOBHM Goodness!

I have to play devil's advocate here. I played this album about 3-4 times. I like the production on it. A few songs stand out. Overall, it's nothing groundbreaking or that memorable where it warrants an "Album of the Year" nod. Most Overkill albums after WFO are quite forgettable for me. I prefer the first five, with "Feel The Fire" and "Horrorscope" right at the top.

Nothing memorable? I couldn't get half the songs out of my head for days. I'd have to say this is one of the more memorable thrash albums I've heard in a while. The songwriting is excellent. I've listened to this a bunch of times and it doesn't get stale.

Yeah i think we all prefer the first five albums, but those are pretty much some of the best Thrash albums ever written, this album IMO feels like if it was released right after Horrorscope and is one of the best Thrash albums to be relased in years, and about the songs not being memorable well i just gonna have to disagree with you, all of the songs grabbed me on first listen.

Nice review Thomas, completely agreed with your score.

Immolation isn't Thrash Metal. There's really no comparison to be made.

As for iron Bound, color me impressed. This truly is the spiritual successor to Horrorscope, and I think it's way catchier. I was singing the songs to myself after just the first listen, it really grabs you by the balls. I don't feel there's a bad song on the whole album. Buy it, burn it, steal it, just fucking hear it, it's everything you want from Thrash metal.
