I never got the comparisons to Immortal, other than some similarities on Pure Holocaust. But any guy can just pick sordid tremolo picked riffs and compare them to any other bm band, Inquisition's riffing style borrows a lot from heavy/thrash with their use of distinct power chords. Anyway, the album is great the production is a little dry but overall the album is a lot better than Ominous. The first three songs sound like a mixture of Magnificent Glorification and the melodic riffs of Invoking. I don't care for the production but overall the album is another great piece of their discography.

Maybe spin some albums again because I got that comparison immediately.

Love these guys looking forward to this one.

I think it is more in the vocal stylings than riff similarities. That said, a lot of later period Immortal borrowed from thrash/heavy metal riffage too.

Yeah but it wasn't black metal. The last album by Immortal was basically the first I album. Inquisition are still a bm band, albeit, with more emphasis on thrash and churning power chords. Its only the vocals, really.
