I definately like what this band is doing, but my only problem with them is that there isnt a whole lot of energy in the music. Now granted this is because of the mid paced tempo of all the songs, but it could definately use a little more punch. But still i like what these guys are doing, its bringing that rocking back into metal, no keyboards, no witch vocals, no songs about Dwarfs or elves, and no frilly laced shirts.

This is one of the few times I really disagree with the review. I hated this album. The music is thin; there's no drive or substance behind it. (Plus, they're all wearing frilly shirts, at least in the photo I saw.)

Yes, energy, punch, standout track, whatever you call it, H_T, this album lacks it. But seeing that others were handing out Album of the Month tag right and left, I upped the score from the originally assigned 85 to 90, to be able to give this an AoM tag, so kids could go and check it out.

Sorry, Carnifex, I generally find your comments being very close to mine, but we are allowed our disagreements from time to time.

Hmmm...I actually kind of like what I'm hearing. I think the band Trixie have done it better this year, but these songs on MySpace don't seem that bad at all. I may have to look into their albums.

Check out Trixie here: http://www.myspace.com/trixiemusic, maybe I'll review them.

I still haven't gotten this album, but I did just get their Roses On White Lace EP and it's awesome! Their Alice Cooper cover of the same name is brilliant. One of the best Cooper covers I've ever heard. I'm definitely going to have to find this album now! If this full-length is anything like this EP it'll kick ass.

LOL Just started reading review, when I was like 7 or 8 I memorized the entire poem, I usually hate poetry, but this one is one of my favorites

"Skazhika dyadya ved ne darom Moskva spalyennaya pozharom bila frantsuzy oddana..."

means "Tell me uncle if it is true that Moscow, burnt to the ground, was not given up in vain to the French" (probably not a good translation)

As for Icarus Witch(going by samples), "bogatir" it is not. But I want to hear more samples from this album from that only 1 song the production seems weak and vocals not convincing slightly cheesy.

I just got this one in the mail and despite the thin sounding production I do like it. The Roses On White lace EP is much better imho though.

Lick the Blade is way better. They're from Ohio and only have a demo out, but its fucking awesome. Too bad bands like Goat Horn are the underground bands that become succesful.
