The single for this album impresses me a lot more than the one for No World For Tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing this.

HA! Glad you liked it bro.

Yeah I love this one too. Unlike Kyle, this is my 4th maybe even 3rd favorite just above No World and Second Stage. My biggest issue is the album length. WTF Claudio?

Am i the only one who really loved No World For Tomorrow?, its their second best after From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness IMO.

Anyway this is a good album and a very good effort from the guys of Coheed, but i cant help feeling like this is a step down from their previous work, its not that the songs are bad (i like them all) its just that they feel less "epic" and simpler.

I loved it very much too.

I actually like the length of their new album. Nothing seems tedious
like on the past two albums where I found some moments too lengthy and bland for my tastes. I realy like the flow they got going on "Year Of The Black Rainbow".

Less epic, I can see that, but I'm not so sure about simpler. I think some of the guitar work and drum work is the best to date.

I completely agree. I love the guitar work on YOTBR. All the harmonies and note picking (for a lack of a better term) makes for a great listen. Songs like This Shattered Symphony, In The Flame of Error and When Skeletons Live are great examples.

Maybe simpler by means of accessibility in overall structure rather than by virtue of instrumental technicality. Many times does dream theater sound simple in their later releases, however these albums do offer their most ambitious instrumental compositions to date.

Because of this I'm adding 10 points to my archive review of their debut.
