Yay, Krieg! Was going to do an archive for Sono Lo Scherno until I saw that Tony had got there first with this.

From what I've heard they're both excellent albums. (The Black House and this one) so by all means I'd love to see another Krieg review.

Talk about a blast from the past, another decent USBM band for review, great work.

I would have swapped the scores for this and Arckanum :P

I love how the booklet mentions this was intentionally recorded with no bass. Personally I like the mixing of this album. It's kind of odd when black metal bands make the drums louder than the guitars but I think it works in Krieg's favour here.

Better than Judas Iscariot, but still never liked them.

I checked out The Black House yesterday and I liked it quite a bit. I'll give this one a listen too for sure.

The Black House is amazing. Totally deserving of the score it was given.

Yes. Black House was the best but I think their whole discography is strong. Everything is at least an 80/100.

Blue Miasma isn't anything like this but is still a great slab of doomy black metal :dio:

I think all of their albums are pretty sweet. I just started listening to them the other day after these review. Honestly I'd never bothered before and I don't know why.

What makes them so great (at least in the eyes of a USBM enthusiast like myself) is that they present an assault not like most USBM. Cascadian BM and Depressive BM dominates the scene and while that's not a bad thing, it's great to have something new.

This, minus the Judas Iscariot hate.

Ok, what would you term the definitive Judas Iscariot album, then?

Probably Distant In Solitary night or Heaven In Flames, though The Cold Earth Slept Below is good, too.

Have you ever heard Winter Of Apokalypse?

I'll try Distant in Solitary Night sometime then....Heaven In Flames didn't work that well for me.

Haven't heard Winter of Apokalypse.
