I remember seeing them at the Clubhouse when they opened for Mayhem, they made Cephalic Carnage look tame compared to their technical insanity. I remember seeing Travis spew a big booger up in the air and catch it, not to mention the fact the constant double bass smacked and beat my body with the constant tremors. Great band, and your lucky to have missed Devourment, holy shit they suck maybe like two good songs but thats it.

I usually don't care about politics in music but the fact that this band is singing about maniacal vegan eco terror is just stupid. Honestly, they're the only people that think a cow is more important than a human. They obviously have never had a quality steak.

Hahaha don't get bothered by it too much, at least their lyrics are well written and coherent as compared to the likes of bands like Wormed or Decrepit Birth.

Part of it is probably rooted in my fiancee's younger sister being vegetarian and a Socialist econut. Hopefully she grows up before she can vote. Even other left wing bands don't bother me. Just this whole Vegan bull crap is ridiculous. Isn't Death Metal and Grindcore supposed to be the antithesis to saving animals, people, and such???

Umm first Decap is sick live. "preacher against humanity" or however you phrased it is dead on. He is just a crazy fucker up on stage. I love his expressions and how he just sticks out his tongue. The squeals the man makes are so intense. He's worth the ticket cost alone. Not to mention that they really have become a standout band since Harvest Floor.

As for their veganism, what is more brutal than the cruelty which we put our food through. If you haven't read their lyrics and are commenting on how they have no place in dm then you are an idiot. Their lyrics are more brutal than anything C Corpse could right and their stories are much more rooted in reality that affects everyone than some fictional murder spree. Grindcore is heavily political and it is often in favor of saving people. And being a vegetarian isn't a sign of immaturity. It's recognition that animals feel pain and shouldn't be butchered mercilessly. If you feel that way then let me vivisect your dog or cat whatever in front of your eyes.

So you're reviewing Kroda and Lucifugum every week but you're put off a band by veganism?

I dunno if that's sarcasm or not, but it's pretty damn stupid to miss a gig because you were partying too hard. If that happens, you probably deserve to be slapped, and it's a good thing that the guy who missed the gig is well aware of it.

I think that their action is appropriate. Granted, I find physical punishment to never be "ok", but music is a business and it is a business that does not make a lot of money. Him missing a show because of his stupidity puts the careers and reputation of the rest of the band and the tour manager at risk. The appropriate action would be to either fire him, replace him on tour, or dock whatever pay they deem necessary.

However, the road has its own set of laws and if the kid is willing to take a slap in the face to answer for his stupidity, oblige him.

As for "vegan death metal" etc. Nobody cares. If anything, it sets the band apart and gives them something original to sing about. If you are pissed off that they are vegans then you should stop listening most black metal bands for a plethora of different reasons. If the music is good, let it be good.

If it's about not being crazy for Cattle Decapitation, then I'm sorry, but they're just not my favorite Death Metal band.

If it's about saying the guy probably deserved to be slapped, then fuck you, because he did. It's beyond unprofessional to miss a gig because you were partying too hard. It lets down the crowd, it lets down the venue, and it lets down your band. I'm glad the guy took his punishment like a trooper, but yeah, he did deserve it.

It's easier to be put off by veganist death metal than NSBM to be honest. I can't relate to anyone or anything in my surroundings being even remotely close to nationalist or nazi or whatever the fuck. There are however a bunch veganist and/or straight-edge morons around that makes the subject much easier to relate to, and thereby get ticked of by.

Only if you are going to eat it afterwards.
