Very awesome of you to get this review up, now I hope some of the dudes around here give this a thorough listen. I think it's a real classic, personally. The music on the album is perfect, and it feels as if Machinae Supremacy has their sound down pat on this album.

One thing I didn't see mention of were the very awesome lyrics on this album. I think it tells a fun little story and is filled with some very cool fist pumping moments.

Like I said in the review, I really don't know how they can build upon the sound they already have without changing their music. It's perfect for what they want to do. I don't like it quite as much as you, as you can see by the score, but to each their own.

And normally I don't mention lyrics because, as Sami Hinkka of Ensiferum told me in my interview, he doesn't like to divulge the stories of each song because each lyric is open to interpretation. But I'll try and make mention of lyrical content more often.

It's a great review, and honestly I'm never really big on a lot of lyrics unless it's a concept type album like this... Most of the time.

Thanks again for posting this review up.

Haha, thanks, and no problem. Honestly I wish I had made the review a bit longer, but there's not really much to say about an album like this. Just go listen to it and rock out, is all I can really say.

And this is a concept album? I was not aware.

Ya I mean it is as far as I can tell. I don't think they've ever come out and stated that, but it all sort of tells the same tale of a futuristic society full of corporate nonsense and greed.

Oh yeah and Overworld is probably one of my favorite album opening songs ever.

Rockin chorus, amazing opening. LOVE the synths on this.

I'd get yourself A View From The End of the World for sure. Then Redeemer. Their older stuff before that is kinda hit and miss, but Deus is a pretty enjoyable album as well.

Just got Redeemer and Overworld. Couldn't find A View From The End on Amazon Mp3. I may have to buy it the old fashioned way... CD.
