Umm a score for an EP? And what the fuck does the album sound like? I'm intrigued by the mention of Flenser but have no clue if I'd like it given that the review barely mentions what the album sounds like.

The review needs a lot of work. It's quite incoherent and vague. The score must be deleted according to the sacred laws of this realm. I'm going to listen to the new Inquisition now :dio:

The score's my fault, forgot to mention our policy on EPs to Brian.

I'd take issue with you guys saying that the review doesn't tell you anything, however - the one thing it doesn't do is offer up bands with a similar sound, and whether that's right or wrong depends on your taste. From Brian's review, I can see it's obviously raw, violent, heavy black metal with lots of screeching, roots in early Norsk Blek Metle yet with a few experimental moments, explosive yet organic. Sounds pretty comprehensive to me, and certainly enough to know whether you'll enjoy it or not.

And this is different than a million other bands how? Maybe I do just need a comparison to other bands but gravely vox with shrieks and raw black metal just doesn't have me itching to buy the album. I don't know maybe it really is that simple of an album and the Flenser mention threw me for a loop as it being something possibly different than a million other bands when it is just not.

I think Brian is going to be a good addition to the team. His two reviews don't describe the music that specifically, but they give enough information to work out the general framework of the music and it's influences.

More importantly, they actually make me feel that irresistible urge to check out the bands in question. Reminds me of Misha a bit actually

Hey, so I wrote the review in question. I hear the criticisms and get where you're coming from. I guess let me explain my style. I kind of write more about how the music makes me feel. I kind of try to give a vague idea of what the music sounds like without giving a blow by blow. I think some of that comes from me not liking reviews that just basically tell me exactly what a record sounds like. I don't personally like those types of reviews, and I tend to enjoy reviews that relate the listener's experience with the music, but giving me the outer edges of the bottom line. Plus, there so much music out there, and so much of it sounds the same, I feel like going that route can be tedious. That's just me, though, and I appreciate not everyone will like that approach. But I'll try to keep this in mind a bit more in the future and try to flesh out a bit more. Just a bit. :-) Thanks for taking time to read my reviews.

Arrested Development references make it easy to pardon.
