Deicides finest hour and one of my favorite death metal albums from the old school. The only real put off being some of the latter tracks lose steam, and the dual pitched vocals are pretty funny. Let's face it Benton has never been a good vocalist, but the riffing on this album puts anything any Floridian death metal band is doing nowadays to shame. I never liked their first album even remotely as much as this, though thanls to you guys for finally getting around to reviewing classics.

The self-titled is definitely better, although there's not a great deal in it.

I might have to give it another spin, but when I heard it it didn't grab me like Legion.

Since the fifth grade? Damn.

s/t is better but this isn't bad. I never got much into Deicide tbh beyond Serpents. If I'm in the mood I just want to listen to it.

I like their s/t more than this. This might raise a few eyebrows, but I even like Once Upon The Cross and Serpents Of The Light more than this album. I've found Legion to be comical and almost cartoonish at times. I dunno, the shrieks just sound funny and not cool like their other albums. It sounds like they were trying too hard to sound eviiiiil. Not that it's a bad album, I like it, but Deicide's s/t will always be not just their best albums, but one the best metal albums ever.

I think this is a classic, but it's good that it got reviewed and got a high score!
